The British Council is the UK’s international organisation for educational opportunities
and cultural relations. Their purpose is to build engagement and trust for the
UK through the exchange of knowledge and ideas between people worldwide. With
their strong networks in Thailand, they respond to Thailand’s ambition to become
a leader in education and creativity through capacity building opportunities for
the next generation of the country’s leaders. Each year they work with millions
of Thais through a wide range of programmes and events including competitions,
symposia, festivals, workshops, seminars and online communities.
The British Council has been building relationships between Thailand and the
UK since 1938. To achieve the above goals, they work in partnership with many
organisations in Thailand across the government, NGO, private and commercial sectors
to create opportunities between people in the two countries.
They work predominantly in three major areas, the creative and knowledge economy,
intercultural dialogue and climate change.
