Webinar Series on Teaching Methodology for English Teachers in Vietnam titled “Reflecting on Teaching by Thinking, Practicing, and Doing”

On April 13, 2021, SEAMEO RETRAC, in partnership with Regional English Language Office (RELO), US Embassy in Hanoi, held the Opening Ceremony of the webinar series on teaching methodology for English teachers in Vietnam titled “Reflecting on Teaching by Thinking, Practicing, and Doing”.

The series of webinars aims to provide 100 English teachers from many provinces in the South of Vietnam with the advanced professional knowledge and skills focusing on current teaching methodology, second language acquisition (SLA) theories, teaching 4 English language skills, critical thinking, using technology in English language teaching and preparing materials for mixed-level classes. The facilitator is Ms. Amy Christensen, RELO’s English Language Specialist from New Mexico, the United States.

At the Opening Ceremony, SEAMEO RETRAC’s Director, Dr. Ho Thanh My Phuong delivered her opening remarks to welcome all the participants and expressed her sincere thanks to Regional English Language Office (RELO) for sponsoring the program. Mr. Jerrold Frank, Regional English Language Officer, in his remarks, also hoped that the participants would find the webinars useful for their teaching career and for expanding their professional network in Vietnam. The 6 live webinars combining with other online activities on the Tech4Teach platform administered by SEAMEO RETRAC, will take place from April to August 2021.
