Call for Abstracts:
The 16 th International Conference on TESOL invites educators, researchers, and practitioners to submit abstracts for presentations. This year’s conference, jointly organized by SEAMEO RETRAC and Curtin University, will focus on the theme “English-Medium Education: Global Perspectives and Local Applications.” We seek to showcase innovative research, best practices, and forward-thinking ideas in the following sub-themes:
Submission Guidelines:

1. Abstract Requirements:
Word limit: no longer than 250 words.
Language: English.
Title: should be no more than 15 words and use title case style (the first letter of each word is capitalized, except for small words).
Content: must be relevant to the conference theme and clearly describe the presentation’s purpose, methods, data sources, existing literature, and potential contributions to the field.
Font: A standard font, such as 12pt, Times New Roman – should be used when formatting the text.
2. Presentation Types:
Oral Presentations: The content of the abstract should include all of the elements of a research, practice, or theory-focused work. Max 30 minutes (15-20 minutes for presentation & 5-10 minutes for Q&A)
Workshops: 60-minute interactive sessions focused on practical applications.
Poster Presentations: Visual displays of research or projects, with scheduled presentation times for attendee interaction.
3. Bio-data & Photograph
The bio-data, not exceeding 100 words, briefly introduces yourself.
A recent, high-quality photo (JPEG format) must also be submitted with your bio. Photos may be lightly edited for clarity, but AI-generated images are not accepted.
Both your bio and photo will appear in the Conference Abstract Booklet.
4. Submission Process:
All abstracts must be submitted online through the conference submission link.
Include the title, author’s name(s), affiliation(s), and contact information.
Indicate the preferred presentation type.
Conference Proceedings

Upon acceptance of abstracts, presenters should promptly prepare and submit full papers to be reviewed for the conference proceedings (with an ISBN). Full papers should range from 2,500 to 3,500 words (excluding title, references, and appendices). Additional details about the proceedings will be updated soon.
