Chair of the Extensive Reading Foundation, Professor Emeritus of Kyoto Sangyo University

Thomas Robb, PhD (University of Hawaii at Manoa) is Chair of the Extensive Reading Foundation. He is, whose mission is to improve language learning through the use of interesting, yet easy-to-read, leveled readers. He is also the Editor-in-Chief of TESL-EJ, a SCOPUS Q1 academic journal. He has received “lifetime achievement awards” for his work in both Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL) and Extensive Reading. Currently, he is Professor Emeritus of Kyoto Sangyo University, Japan. He is the author of a number of online websites for language learning and professional development, including the free MReader quiz program, which is used by schools in many countries, including Vietnam and Indonesia. He was the 2nd President of JALT, the Japan Association for Language Teaching, has been on the Board of Directors of International TESOL, a past president of Pacific CALL, and the founder of the annual GLoCALL conference, which held its first event in 2007 at SEAMEO-RETRAC.
