Training course on "Gearing Up Responsible and Outstanding Teachers in Southeast Asia for the 21st Century (GURO21)”

On January 08 – June 30, 2020, SEAMEO RETRAC, in collaboration with SEAMEO Regional Center for Educational Innovation and Technology in the Philippines (SEAMEO INNOTECH), organized a training course on “Gearing Up Responsible and Outstanding Teachers in Southeast Asia for the 21st  Century (GURO21)” at SEAMEO RETRAC’s premises in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Participating in the course were 32 lecturers, academic staff and teachers from different faculties in various educational institutions in Vietnam who are interested in becoming flexible learning tutors and online course facilitators. The training course includes two phases: (1) in-class training and (2) online training. After two days joining the face-to-face training of the course from Jan 08-09, 2020, participants were provided with useful information about the course as well as given opportunities to have hands-on practice on iFLEX – the INNOTECH Flexible Learning Management System to prepare for the online learning phases of the course.

During the online training phase, participants were not only able to equip themselves with knowledge and skills required of 21st-century teachers but also were provided with opportunities to develop and enhance facilitating skills on online learning courses. After the whole course, participants will receive the certificate of completion.
