International Training Course in Capacity Building in Educational Leadership and Management for Higher Education

SEAMEO RETRAC organized the international training course in Capacity Building in Educational Leadership and Management for Higher Education from March 23 to 27, 2015, for 32 educational leaders and administrators from colleges and universities in Cambodia, Lao PDR and Vietnam.
The purposes of the course were to enhance the leaders’ and administrators’ educational leadership and management skills in higher education as well as to provide the participants with practical knowledge and experience in educational leadership and management in these three countries. The course covered such training topics as educational leadership in globalization, organizational culture in education, human resource management and assessment of student learning. In addition, the participants were also given opportunities for sharing experiences, perspectives and information about trends in educational leadership and management in the region and the world. A wide range of activities such as lecturing, discussing, group working and presenting was employed to make the workshop more interesting, informative and fruitful. During the 4 days of training, participants also paid a visit to Ton Duc Thang University to learn more about leadership and management as well as academic activities of the institution.
