Training course on Enhancing 21st Century Educational Practices Through International Professional Learning Communities

On March 4-5, 2025, SEAMEO RETRAC, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan (MEXT) and the University of Fukui, organized a training course titled “Enhancing 21st Century Educational Practices Through International Professional Learning Communities” at the center’s premises. Led by experienced lecturers, the course aimed to enhance teaching methodologies through global collaboration and innovative pedagogical approaches, providing participants with key topics such as lesson study, student-centered learning, and the development of professional learning communities (PLCs). Moreover, participants had opportunities to have in-depth discussions with lecturers on the education system in Fukui, hands-on lesson observations, and case studies from international initiatives, which help them gain valuable insights and practical tools to refine their teaching strategies and foster a more dynamic, studentfocused learning environment.
