Training course: AI Applications in Teaching and Research for Tra Vinh University

On June 06 – 07, 2023, SEAMEO RETRAC conducted a training course on “AI Application in Teaching and Research” for participants who are lecturers and academic staff for Tra Vinh University.

The course focused on four different topics, which were (1) AI applications in developing lectures; (2) AI applications in designing teaching materials; (3) AI applications in evaluating and assessing student performance; and (4) AI applications in research. During the two days of the training course, the participants were equipped with knowledge of interactive AI applications and tools such as ChatGPT, Bing, AI, etc. in developing lectures and designing instructional materials. Additionally, the participants were also provided with opportunities of practicing these tools in specific teaching situations and discussing how they could deal with challenges in using these applications in practice with the other participants and the trainers, which helped them have an overview of the issues related to the application of AI in teaching and research.
