47th SEAMEO High Officials Meeting

On 26-28 November 2024, SEAMEO RETRAC participated in the 47th SEAMEO High Officials Meeting (HOM), held in Bangkok, Thailand. The meeting brought together high-ranking officials, SEAMEO Centre Directors, and key stakeholders from across the region to discuss and strategize on advancing SEAMEO’s education agenda.

In addition to the main In-Camera and Plenary Sessions, Mr. Nguyen Tan Hung – SEAMEO RETRAC’s Deputy director and staff members participated in several key accompanying events:

1. 4th SEAMEO Strategic Workshop on Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL): This workshop provided an opportunity to refine strategies for MEL implementation and share insights with other SEAMEO Centres.
2. Special Sessions on Strategic Topics: These sessions explored critical themes such as Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning; SEAMEO Centres Policy Research Network; and AI in Education.
3. The launch of the Rapid Scoping Study Report on Out-of-School Children and Youth in Southeast Asia: The report offers valuable insights to guide interventions for enhancing access to education.

SEAMEO RETRAC’s participation in the HOM reaffirmed its dedication to fostering collaboration among SEAMEO member countries and contributing to the advancement of inclusive and quality education in the region.
