SEAMEO RETRAC Equips Higher Education Leaders with Global Strategies for Leadership and Management

To address challenges and obstacles in implementing and innovating leadership and management paradigms within higher education institutions across Southeast Asia, SEAMEO RETRAC organized a regional training course via Zoom on “Leadership and Management for Higher Education in the Global Context” from November 12-14, 2024. This training empowered leaders, administrators, experts, and practitioners from Ministries of Education and universities in Vietnam and beyond with valuable insights, best practices, and advanced competencies essential for driving their institutions toward success in a globalized educational landscape.

The sessions covered innovative leadership and management, strategies for inspiring change and development, staff professional development, crisis management, and student learning assessment. These discussions facilitated dynamic exchanges of ideas and experiences on implementing effective leadership and management strategies. Participants explored various approaches, learned from one another’s successes and challenges, and gained practical insights to apply in their own institutions. The collaborative environment fostered networking opportunities, enabling sustained connections and potential future collaborations. By the end of the training, participants were equipped with a wealth of knowledge and practical tools to enhance their leadership and management practices, ensuring the continued growth and success of their institutions.
