Training course on “AI Applications in Teaching and Research” for Tra Vinh University

On June 06 – 07, 2023, SEAMEO RETRAC conducted a training course on “AI Applications in Teaching and Research” for participants who are lecturers and academic staff of Tra Vinh University.

The course focused on four different topics, which were (1) AI applications in developing lectures (2) AI applications in designing teaching materials; (3) AI applications in evaluating and assessing student performance; and (4) AI applications in research. During the two days of training, the participants were equipped with knowledge of interactive AI applications and tools in developing lectures and designing instructional materials. To name a few, these tools were ChatGPT, Bing AI, and so on, which helped them to have an overview of the issues related to available applications in teaching and research. Additionally, the participants were also provided with opportunities of practicing these tools in specific teaching situations and discuss how they can deal with challenges in using these applications in practice with other participants and the trainer.
