Experts Meeting on “The Harmonization of Higher Education and Recognition of Higher Education Qualifications in Southeast Asia”

SEAMEO Secretariat, in collaboration with UNESCO Bangkok, Thailand, John Wiley & Sons, Singapore and SEAMEO RETRAC, organized an Experts Meeting on “The Harmonization of Higher Education and Recognition of Higher Education Qualifications in Southeast Asiaon Dec 2-3, 2019 at SEAMEO RETRAC’s premises. Participated in the meeting were 25 experts, high officials from Ministry of Education from 09 member countries and representatives of other SEAMEO Centers. During the meeting, representatives shared their country presentations on policy, programmes and agenda to promote academic mobility and recognition of higher education qualifications and the role of harmonization of the curriculum, which contributed to the development of a regional higher education action plan for the next 3 years. Main topics in the discussion revolved around the harmonization of higher education curricular, roadmap to increase recognition of higher education qualifications, and strategies for ratification of the Tokyo Convention by member countries.
